I have spent the majority of my adult life caring for Soldiers. Whether I was a platoon medic doing a foot check after a long field exercise or stabilizing a wounded Soldier in combat or managing someone’s high blood pressure in garrison, in some way or another my job has always been taking care of the men and women in uniform. After I retired, I never found the same feeling of accomplishment that I did in the Army. I felt kind of lost. I found the civilian world very compartmentalized and impersonal. I missed the camaraderie of not only interacting with my peers but having a common bond with my patients. I am excited to be a part of the Warrior’s Heart team, helping those who are the most vulnerable and in need of help.
