My “why” is simple. I love those we serve. Being a military wife for over 2 decades, this is our community. I’ve also been in recovery since Jan 28, 1996, so the passion to do what we do runs deep.
About twenty years ago, I came to the realization that I was not equipped to help my husband process or work through anything relating to his time in the military. That was a hard pill to swallow being I was of the belief that when you’re married you know everything there is to know about each other and we could “fix” each other. That was not the case with us. What my husband needed was another warrior and if I really wanted him to work through whatever was going on emotionally, mentally and spiritually, then I had to support that. I can’t begin to help when I have absolutely no idea of his experiences. I’m a military WIFE not a combat soldier.
Warriors Healing Warriors isn’t a catchy phrase, it’s a game changer. That is why we created a facility that only serves this population.
