My Why

My Why: Cassandra Porter

Cassandra Porter
Marketing Director

Cassandra was born in New Jersey but raised in both North and South Carolina. At the age of 23, she joined the United States Air Force as a Cryptologic Language Analyst and was sent to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California to learn Persian Farsi. After working as a translator/transcriber and reporter for 4 years, she then became a Technical Training Instructor at Goodfellow AFB.

This is when her husband, Justin Porter, the “passionate wedding filmmaker”, decided to go full time growing his filmmaking business. Cassandra then became intrigued with the power of social media to grow a business and fascinated with the ever changing world of marketing. In 4 years, she was able to grow a digital audience of over 1 million and make Justin Porter a household name in the camera world. Her biggest strengths are analyzing data and strategic thinking, while understanding the psychology behind marketing and what makes people intrigued to learn more about a brand.

My Why:

After watching both of my parents struggle with alcohol addiction growing up, and then losing both of them to the disease, I have always had a desire to help people. I just didn’t know how I wanted to do it. All my life I’ve been trying to figure out what my passion was, especially after watching my husband be so invested in his love for filmmaking. Little did I know, marketing would become one of my greatest passions. It’s a field of work that is constantly evolving and mainly based on psychology and strategy, two things I love.

To now be given the chance to take everything I’ve learned working alongside my husband and pour it into an organization that is built to serve others and help them recover at some of their lowest points in their lives, I can’t imagine a more fulfilling job that hits so close to home for me. My goal is to also help make Warriors Heart a household name in the healthcare field because its uniqueness and all of the extremely passionate people that work here need to be known!
