Dona Evans
Bookkeeper
Dona was born in Kerrville, Texas. She was raised not far from there on a working ranch in Bandera, Texas where she attended school in both Bandera and Medina. The last two years of high school, Dona worked at Bandera Downs as a marketing and publicity assistant. Dona took an opportunity out of state where she enjoyed the beautiful mountains of Colorado for several years. She loved Colorado but the opportunity arose for her to return to Bandera, where she spent 15 years working for the Bandera County Treasurer and Auditor’s office before joining Warriors Heart.
Dona is the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran. Her sister, brother-in-law, step brother, cousins and many close friends are all warriors. Dona enjoys the outdoors. You will find her, her husband Chance and their dogs out fishing, boating and traveling most of the time. Dona’s passion for all creatures is exhibited by her ability to help nature and relocate “nuisance critters” and an occasional rehabilitation when the opportunity arises
My Why:
As a natural empath and supporter of our armed forces and first responders, I have always had the greatest respect and love for our Warriors. As someone who has personally been affected by PTSD and Alcoholism, I value the connection that I build with the warriors. It is with great honor that I have the opportunity to work with the amazing humans at Warriors Heart where our work helps so many wonderful humans and K9’s.
