Ella was born in Houston, Texas, but due to her upbringing in the Child Protective Services (CPS) system, she moved frequently across the state. During her time in CPS, she met her daughter’s father, who later enlisted in the army. Tragically, he returned with severe issues, including addiction, and passed away when their daughter was just two weeks old. Ella continued her life as a single mother within the CPS system until she aged out at 18.

Throughout her life, Ella witnessed her parents and sister struggle with addiction. Her father, who had achieved sobriety, ultimately succumbed to a disease related to his past drug use when she was 31. Despite these challenges, Ella was fortunate to receive support from CPS and her caseworker, which motivated her to break the cycle of addiction. While she has not struggled with addiction herself, she has faced significant challenges with anxiety and PTSD due to her past trauma.

My Why: 

I came from a family of addicts and grew up in CPS due to that, I moved all around Texas until I finally got a couple of years in the same high school and graduated Klien Oak High. While in my senior year I found out I was pregnant with my daughter and had to grow up fast. I went to college then ended up in an oilfield town and worked in the oilfield for many years. I soon found Warriors Heart and was amazed at what they do for our Brave Men and women of the military and First responders. I quickly hired on and instantly felt at home! I decided to leave to pursue a career that I got my degree in and instantly regretted it after working three years as a property manager. Warriors Heart was calling me back home! Warriors Heart holds a special place in my heart, so of course I’m back!
