In her free time, she loves cheering on her boys at baseball and football, reading the latest book-tok recommendations, and as a self-proclaimed foodie trying new foods with her husband.
MY WHY
My background as an RN includes home health, preoperative and post anesthesia care, and correctional healthcare. My time working in a correctional setting I saw how addiction and the stigma of mental health can impact an individual on many different levels. My husband also does peer mediation with his EMS team after rough calls. He has explained that mental health care beyond that is practically non-existent for our first responders. I hope to help create a positive and healing experience for our Veterans and First Responders and further help their healing once I am finished with nurse practitioner school.
