Jillian Greer
Client Relations – Intake
Jillian is very passionate about expressing her emotions through art. She believes that it does not matter whether you have ‘good’ artistic skills or not, but that you feel that you can fully express your emotions through the form of art. Growing up in Louisiana has helped her to view all kinds of different types of people, ways of life, and try to understand each one through a different perspective. Jillian has also had her own struggles with mental illness, and has a deep compassion for those suffering, no matter what form that may be. Her mission while working at Warriors Heart is to help contribute, in any way, shape, or form that provides help to others. No matter the situation or event.
My Why
I haven’t always been the brightest apple in the fruit bowl. And that used to weigh me down alot. Deciding who you are as a person, and where you are going in life, used to scare the crap out of me. I believed that if you grew up in an unfortunate situation, that determined who you are as a person. My Father was a cop for 16 years. So, understandably, he had some anger issues, as well as a few others, and he carried it around with him everyday. It was affecting his life, kids, and overall household. For me personally, that gave me some anxiety issues, as well as some other issues that made me myself want to numb the feelings with whatever I could get my hands on. Whether that was smoking pot, taking acid, or even trying to end my life. For me, mental health plays a big factor in recovery. You can’t exactly get back on track with your life if you’re still at war with yourself inside your head. Going to Behavioral Health hospitals wasn’t the thing that got me back on track. It was seeing my father stand up on his own two feet again after hitting rock bottom. I’ve seen the transformation happen right before my eyes, and that made me take a look at myself. Of course, I still have much more healing to do, but I know that it’s possible through putting in the work, and actually being honest, YOURSELF, instead of just numbing the pain, no matter what form that may be. I can proudly say that I’ve come so far, but still have a long way to go. “Nobody’s Nerfect”!
