I have the unique perspective of having close family members who suffered with addictions and also I had a career as a Police Officer for 20 years and worked with fellow officers who suffered with PTSD and addictions as well as dealing with people in our community with the same issues.
When I heard about Warriors Heart, I was drawn to the fact that they were trying to help not only military, but law enforcement and other first responders who are typically left out when they need help.
My prayer is that the stigma usually associated with law enforcement getting treatment will be lifted and they will be encouraged to get reach out and seek help and heal and go back home to their families as whole and healthy again.
I am thankful that I can perhaps play at least a small role in that process.
