Melisa was born and raised in Manassas, VA. She is a proud mother of 2 grown daughters, Kayla and Jessica and grandma to 5 granddaughters, Aaliyah (11 1/2), Savannah (10), Lennox (8), Zoey (8), and Anyston (3), who all live in Highlandsville, MO. , AR for 10 years but came back to VA where she has lived for the last 22 years in Newtown, VA. While coming back to VA she became a CNA in 2008 and went back to school to obtain her LPN license in February 2023. Her spare time is filled with playing with her 3 dogs and 1 cat, hanging out with family, going on day trips  to the beach or dinner dates with her 12-year great niece, and reading.

My Why

I never knew a place like Warrior’s heart existed until I came to interview. The moment I walked through the front door I knew I found the place I was meant to be. Everyone, from staff to the warriors,  I have met has welcomed me with open arms. I believe that God puts you in the right place at the most vulnerable moments in your life. Addiction came knocking on our door 3 years ago with my niece dies of an overdose. I became a nurse to make a difference and what better way to do that than Warriors healing Warriors way. It is an honor to be part of an amazing community and be able to serve our military who gave up so much to protect us.
