Tosha Covington

Tosha is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who was born in Houston, Texas. As a child she moved every 3-4 years due to her father’s job with a major tool company. Tosha went to elementary school in Houston, Middle School in San Antonio, and Edmond, OK. Her high school years were spent in Novato, CA. After all that moving joining the Army was a no brainer. Tosha enlisted in 1994 as an Intelligence Analyst (MASINT, ELINT, MINT, and HUMINT). She was stationed at Camp Humphrey’s Korea, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and Ft. Meade, MD. Her last assignment was working at the National Security Agency (NSA). Tosha experience non-combat trauma during her almost 10 years of service.
After serving her country she worked at a major big box home improvement store starting as a kitchen designer and worked her way up the ranks to key-carrying manager. Tosha decided to return to school and earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M San Antonio majoring in Criminology and Psychology.
After graduating Tosha began her career at a major insurance and banking institution that supports the military community. Her first position was in mortgage originations. She then moved to a sales team and soon was promoted to manager. As a manager she led teams through major life events and even addiction. The leadership role solidified Tosha’s desire to become a counselor. Tosha left the organization and began her journey of helping others heal from addiction. She began the LCDC journey as a simple tech at a private recovery center until she was able to obtain her Chemical Dependency License. After receiving her license Tosha moved to Dominguez State Jail where she supported offenders by counseling them one on one as well as providing group education. Tosha worked parttime at a mental health and addiction facility supporting service members and civilians. This facility allowed Tosha to work with the co-occurring population. Tosha’s next position was with Bexar County Adult Probation at an In-Patient Facility working with the co-occurring offender population.
Tosha’s journey to Warrior’s Heart has been a long one but she knows it was worth the wait.
Tosha comes from a family of service members. She has 2 grandfathers who served, one was a “flyboy” in WWII. Flying the B29 “Widow Maker” on several combat missions and the other served in the Navy.
Tosha has several cousins and an aunt who have also served.
Tosha enjoys spending time with her family whenever possible. She is an empty nester after the last of her 3 children moved out. Tosha has 2 sons (28 and 25), who in San Antonio and a daughter (23) who lives in Maryland. One of Tosha’s sons is a tattoo artist and is working on his degree in Graphics design, he is expected to graduate in Fall 2025. The youngest of the 3 works in customer service for a major financial institution.
Tosha loves to refinish furniture in her spare time. She also loves sitting on the front porch of her “retirement home” overlooking Medina Lake and hanging out with her fur baby’s. Layla is a pit/lab mix, Pebbles is a pit weenie mix and Tanner the King (aka owe gooey) is a Stafford Terrier with beautiful green eyes.
